Born at Ochsner Hospital, Evangeline was 10 months old when her dad, Richard Paul Wendt, Jr. died of a 3rd time challenge with a Pineal Blastoma. Her Grandmother passed when she was 6 from lung cancer. Other friends and family have gone, gotten through or are currently in care at Ochsner for various cancer treatment. #GrayMay is part of the National Brain Tumor Society’s awareness efforts. Her dad’s birthday is May 26th and he died on June 16th, Father’s Day, so she is using this window of time to raise funds to help people directly in her community by using her talents and resources developed through competing in scholarship pageants.
